Very original, comfy island airport. Lots of choices and times for you to help get to where you need to go, island-hopping or heading to the mainland or even Vancouver. Staff there a very nice and helpful, and it's super easy to get around the pretty much outdoor airport. Flights are almost never delayed or cancelled as well. The TSA is also super quick and easy, even during busy times of the day. Would highly recommend checking it out, and spending time on the beautiful Garden Island!
P.S. I've already been in Kauai for two weeks before this happened and everything else has been phenomenal. Come for the perfect island but skip the crappy taxi.
Nice small airport easy to navigate and car rental right outside, shuttle service and taxis. Land and wait bags and you will be out in 20 minutes. Aloha
This is the WORST airport. Arriving to, ok. Leaving from, NOT!! They wouldn't let me bring my yogurt, which I need because I have a special diet. Another time they made me wait 45 minutes because of jewelry making wire cutter. Also the airport needs a makeover. DFW Airport is great, BTW! Never had any problems. But LIH - Eeech!
Easy airport. TSA was more "through" here then at any other Hawaiian airport.
The airport is cute and with a nice Hawaiin vibe BUT the taxi service is terrible. I don't know what company the taxi phone routes to but the woman on the other end was rude and unhelpful. We found another couple going to the same resort and tried to book a taxi for all 4 of us and they refused. They insisted we each pay for our own taxi. When I called back to clarify a misunderstanding, she gave me attitude and did nothing to help. They obviously want money and don't care about you. I rented a car. I'm not giving not giving them $50 a ride with that treatment. Pay a little extra and drive to some great restaurants and sunset locations. What a lackluster company with unfair policies and rude representatives.
