In the black of night as a boat with a Lihue heading approaches Kauai, from an Oahu direction, it would most likely see the sweeping Beam from the height of Ninini Point Lighthouse first. As the vessel closes the distance, in a sense, it is passed off to the smaller Kukii Point Lighthouse (Beacon) & the seawall Jetty Light that reside directly across the water from one another, at the Kalapaki Bay entrance, to further define absolute safe passage to the Harbor. Kukii Point Lighthouse (Beacon) provides an important maritime service and is also a beautiful ocean front setting that's worth the effort to visit.
Lighthouse it's self is small but the area that it sets on is beautiful. It's an easy hike to lighthouse but finding path to it was a bit complicated without aid.
