The coconut filling was tasty with real shredded coconut, so no complaints there. Unfortuately, the crust was over cooked and hard. A good crust is a golden color and flakey, not brown and rigid. Three strikes, you're out. We won't be going back.
Stopped here not realizing it was a room with two vending machines of pies and slices (sweet and savory) ranging between $5-24. I had cash, lined up the machine to vend mode & put in a $5 bill for the assorted mini pie option and it said ‘offline’. I called to report it to their other location which is listed on the machine. Not sure if she believes me but she said she’d “look at the video footage.”
Absolutely delicious Macadamia pies! I am not usually a pie person but couldn't help myself with it! The dinner pies are also very nice, per person sized. The chicken pot pie and Shepard's pies were a hit at dinner (take and bake).
We chose the coconut cream pie for $20. I noticed it did not have any whipped cream on top. I asked if she was going to put some on before we left. She said, "No, it would just melt because we use canned cream." What? If canned cream doesn't hold up then WHIP YOUR OWN. You are a bakery after all. Whipping your own is way cheaper than buying it canned and it won't melt. We made another stop to pick up whipped cream bringing the total to $23.59.
This is a storefront for 2 side-by-side vending machines. They have a pretty good selection of pies and also have some t-shirts. It was probably 3/4 full when I went, in the middle of the day on a weekday.
Favorite flavor: Blueberry pina colada. Macnut is great too.
Next disappointment was that it was much smaller than your standard 9" pie which meant instead of getting 8 slices of pie you only get 6 slices. Sure, you could divide it into eight slices, but they would be miniature.
