Marc Perales is the best liar I have ever met. He could sell ice to eskimos.
Best mechanic I've found in the 10 years I've lived on Kauai. I have cost compared with other auto shops and the owner at Destination is always fair in price. They really know what they are doing. Top notch work and friendly service! :)
There are ony a few things that Marc, the owner of Destination cares about.
I have seen him take peoples money for repairs that werent performed, watched him throw customer supplied new parts in the trash or save them for his own projects, and witnessed him stealing a customers deposit money from her family after she died.
Friendly and fairly quick. I was able to get a safety inspection without needing an appointment.
I cant make this stuff up.
Money, having cool toys, letting everyone know how "smart" he is, and getting the attention of women.
Really smart guys. Really honest mechanics.
He can turn some nuts and bolts but is singlehandedly the most dishonest mechanic I have ever met.
Marc is a dishonest crook! Before purchasing a vehicle I paid him roughly $175 to inspect the car & change the oil since his service sticker was on the windshield. He gave me a report stating the car was in good working order and had a minor catylic convertor that would need to be replaced down the road. He said it was minor and would only cost $550. I purchased the car based on his expertise & inspection. With in a years time his shop racked up a bill of $3,000. He also charged me around $1,200 for the catylic convertor he said would only be $550. The last repair he changed the valve gasket due to what he said was a minor leek. Roughly a month later my car starts smoking and the oil light comes on. The car stalls on the side of the road and I check the oil. There is no oil in the vehicle & nothing registers on the dip stick. I was incomplete shook since I barely got my car back from them & there where no oil spills or signs of leeks with the car. I take it make to Marc and he tells me it was an "act of God". He asks me how much I know about cars. I tell him I know a little. He then goes on to give me a bs line that it is normal for a dip stick to register no oil shortly after driving it. He tells me it's normal for the car to have a mechanical burnt engine smell. It was one lie after another. I spoke with 3 other mechanics and they all came to the same conclusion. The all said the engine burned because there was no oil in it. They said this should never be the case if it was just in the shop a month ago. After they come to their conclusion they asked me where I brought the car. When I tell them Destination Auto, they all shook their head and said this is a daily thing with this shop. Marc is dishonest. He is a thief. He'll over charge you, do faulty work, and destroy you car. Don't be another victim!
