HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My appointment went great the staff was friendly and more than willing to answer my questions. And the selection of frames and lenses is the best I have seen.

On previous occasions I was misled by the staff when I inquired if a pair of glasses would be covered under my vision plan. After they reviewed my plan, I was told that it would be covered 80% and I therefore purchased a $500 pair of glasses. When I came to pick them up, I was informed that “oh no, you are not covered because we are not in your network and that I have to pay the full $500 and then submit a claim to my insurance for my annual limit of $100”. I attributed this to an error at the time but in hindsight realize that this is the dishonest way business is done at Pacific Eye Center.

I read the review below and I wondered if I had written it. although my issues were a bit different, they were not appropriate for their business. I had a conversation with Dr. Schererville about my upset, which was about the lack of assistance, he thanked me and seemed receptive. I have not returned, so I don't know if things have changed. I need new glasses and I don't feel good about going back to them. I just don't know where to go. I will ask friends.

Next I begin to receive bills from Pacific Eye Center for services performed 18 months prior and for which my insurance had paid. After discussing this with Jamie and showing her written documentation that this was paid in full by my insurance, she insisted that it was not but could not show me anything other than her own internal records stating they were not reimbursed in full by my insurance. When I told her to go find me some evidence such as a copy of their check, she refused and said that even though I had a written statement from Summerlin showing that Pacific Eye Center had been paid in full that their records indicated otherwise and that I was supposed to spend my time getting a cancelled check from Summerlin. Since when is it the customer’s responsibility to provide evidence that the statement from the insurance company is accurate? If the provider thinks the statement is not accurate, let them present the appropriate documentation.

Unfortunately, I must recommend that people stay away from Pacific Eye Center (even though Dr Sherrer seems to be a very nice guy and a good doctor).

I would recommend this practice to anyone who needs eye care or eyeware and is looking for exceptional service.

Their eye center is brand new and it looks awesome! I've recommended them to all my friends and family to visit!

I am horribly disappointed with the manner in which my account has been handled by the Pacific Eye Center staff. While I like Dr. Sherrer as a person and a doctor, I will no longer choose to have my eye care at Pacific Eye Center because of the way the billing is handled.

The best selection of opticals on the Island, Dr.Sherrer is one of the best doctors i have ever met. He really helped me find the right pair of contact for me. No doctor seemed to get it correct, but Dr.Sherrer was a tremendous help!

During this time period, I authorized payment for a subsequent service. While she explicitly knew that I was objecting to paying the old bill; rather than keeping the old bill in dispute as instructed, she applied my payment to the old bill that had already been paid by my insurance and confused the matter even more. (Technically this is credit card fraud but why make a big stink over a dirty tactic executed with plausible deniability).

The money is small (only $77.52); but it is a matter of principal. Do not get misled by the fake smiles at the door while being ripped off.

Another issue of course is the exorbitant charges to my insurance for “pre-glaucoma screening” which result in high co-pays. If I have been in a higher risk group for glaucoma, why has nobody mentioned it to me when discussing my diagnosis? A clear rip off designed to legally bilk insurance companies.
