This course has amazing views and world class golf centrally located in lihue on Kauai. The holes are laid out over a wide spread area that weaves through the valley and around the beautiful homes.
I have been playing this course for the last 20 years and have always enjoyed the layout and exemplary care of the course. Although on this last outing the course was in terrible condition with dry fairways and weed infested greens that made it challenging to putt. The back nine was in better condition but the ground was very dry and hard. I hope this course can turn around and get back to its original glory.
The course is not in the greatest shape with weeds over taking some greens but overall it's a great course to experience on Kauai.
For a course that is an $80 course I would expect more. For example no tee's, towels,water, GPS on cart, free range balls, etc. And the course isn't in great shape. Pay 50 more and get all the amenities including a bag tag and a way better view at one of the better courses nearby. Pay 50 and go to the county course and you get more for your dollar.
This may be a no brainier for regular golfers so just keep in mind, this place isn't cheap unless you come ready with clubs and balls which you probably don't have if you're vacationing here.
A surprisingly great track. There is active home construction on the course, though direct impact on actual play is minimal. Other than that, sensational views of mountain peaks and house-less valleys. Back 9 in particular provides one with a sense of playing in a jungle, when really, you're in downtown! Very interesting par 3s.
It's a fine course but traveler beware, if you come across a special like I did, you won't get away cheap. We signed up for a new years $35 rate but then we're told that every member of our group had to rent clubs because "it was their policy."
I don't want to sound like some cheap schmuck trying to pull one over but we were definitely not golfers but just wanted to play a nice game in the beautiful scenery of Hawaii whole we were here and ended up dropping about $300 for a group of 4.
