The staff here are helpful and quick, especially now that you can check in at either a kiosk or with an agent. I booked a minivan and partway through the booking wished to change it for a smaller vehicle. This was done quickly and allowed me to choose the car I wanted.
The self check in would not accept our reservation and the online reservation system would not work either. They did not staff enough individuals to deal with the amount of rentals that needed to be processed. Attempting the self check in, the online system and then waiting in the long line we waited over 30min to pick up a car. We've rented from Alamo often and it is normally a way easier process. This site is not streamed lined to be functional and get customers quickly set up. Very disappointing.
I have no complains about my rental experience with Alamo. No long waits. Easy drop off. Good customer service. I booked a compact car through Costco. It was part of prepaid package deal. There was no additional fees charged. We got a worn out Hyundai Accent but had no problems. It drove well. It's Kauai so I guess it's expected to get worn out cars.
I'm a long term Hertz user. Did this through Costco because it was week long rental and a great price. I was helped by the Alamo staff from the moment I walked into the airport office. Rep asked me if I needed help and walked me through the "automated" check in. Car in good shape and very clean. Shuttle was prompt both upon arrival and departure. Well spaced and timed. Excellent price. Do it again in a heartbeat.
As simple as renting a car can be. Choose the option to skip the kiosk so you can go straight to the lot to pick your car and your time from arriving to leaving is 10 minutes or less. Our car was clean, had a full tank, ran really well and had all the amenities needed. I would definitely rent with Alamo again!
